SIWS installation complete. PC's for academic systems are in the process of being installed and imaged. SSCC Lab 110A table deficiencies have been corrected. Still awaiting delivery of PC mounts for SSCC Lab 110A from Central Facilities vendor.

IMCnet, MCnet, MCFnet infrastructure complete.

Lightning protection modules have been changed to the correct module. Exterior cabling complete.

SIWS installation as well as conference room installations almost complete. Currently waiting on Facilities supplied credenza's. PC's set for deliver Dec 1st or 2nd.

Network Infrastructure

IMCnet and MCnet infrastructure installed and tested. Once Wireless infrastructure has been installed all network infrastructure will be complete.

Interior cabling complete and punch list items still being corrected. The only major item left is the missing room numbering on patch panels within the MDF & IDF.

Exterior Cabling/Telcom

Lightning protection modules being changed out on copper cabling to accomodate college voice communications. Estimated time until install of the correct lightning protection circuit breakers is about 3 weeks.

A/V

Mediatech/Dell quote has been submitted for approval by IT Administration. Current estimated start time for Mediatech installation is November 15th.

Network Infrastructure

IMCnet and MCnet infrastructure awaiting interior punch list item completion before work can be completed. All switch gear is in place and powered however until the punch list items are complete testing cannot be completed.

Interior cabling is proceeding. Weekly walkthroughs with MC IT Cabling Group is proceeding. Discrepancies have been identified and corrected.

Exterior Cabling

Fiber tubing has been installed and air blown fiber will be installed next week. CAT5 cabling has been installed from SSC MDF to Commons MDF

Mediatech/Dell quote is currently being revised. Requisition expected to be sent to procurement by Mid July. A/V installation expected in September, to follow completion of summer SIWS installs on the Takoma Park Campus.

Quote has been approved by Network Engineering and will be sent to procurement by the seond week of July. Infrastructure installation currently planned for Aug 1.

Exterior cabling pre-installation activities have begun. Windows are now being installed within the building. Interior cabling is set to begin within the next 2 weeks. Project progress meetings are ongoing and will transition to Takoma Park in July.

FIP is currently awaiting exterior cabling submittals from Central Facilities. Interior cabling has been reviewed by the proper IT groups and sent back Facilities. Drywall has been installed on the 2nd floor and 1st floor rough-ins are nearing completion. IT Project Team is now meeting on a regular Bi-Weekly basis on Tuesday's.

Deficiencies with the A/V SIWS and LCD conduit have been corrected. MC IT Cabling group has reviewed submittals related to the internal cabling of the building and MC Network Engineering is currently reviewing the Network Infrastructure design. SSC MDF to Commons MDF cabling is slated to take place within the next 4-5 weeks through the NY Ave Conduit path.

A/V conduit issues have arisen due to a walkthrough with Mediatech/Central Facilities/FIP PMs. Several meetings have taken place and are planned to address these issues and resolve them before the walls are closed. The current construction timeline allows IT to have access to the space sometime in mid-July.

Construction is proceeding. Schedule issues have arisen with the contractor due to unforseen circumstances within the building, however the Spring 2010 opening is still on target. IT Project meetings are set to begin on February 17th and shall continue for the duration of the project.

Preliminary Meetings to define the scope of work for the project in relation to the IT portion of the renovation have begun. Central Facilities and the contractor are still working to resolve some outstanding construction issues. FIP PM will be attending construction progress meetings to stay abreast of issues affecting IT.

Demolition continues and some construction activities have begun. Schedule from contractor reflecting Spring 2010 opening is still in development. College's specifications to the contractor are being refined as some items do not reflect changes within the Takoma Park campus.

Demolition of the building is beginning to wind down. Some structural defects have been found and are being addressed by Central Facilities. Some impact to the schedule will take place but the scope has yet to be defined. IT Specifications & Requirements Report will be sent out the week of 9/29/08.

Demolition activities continuing. Building Permit has been secured by Konover (Construction Contractor). IT meetings to review scope of work and other related activity being planned and implemented. Construction schedule being distributed bi-weekly.

As of July 21st, demolition of the building has commenced. Bi-Weekly construction progress meetings are progressing. The construction schedule is still being developed due to unforseen consequences, but a preliminary schedule has been distributed. IT meetings related to the project begin this week.

Regular weekly construction meetings have begun. Estimated start time for demolition of the building is July 14th. IT Infrastructure is scheduled to be removed from the building this week.

The pre-construction meeting has been scheduled for June 9th. Certain issues regarding permitting for the project are still on-going. Once the Notice to Proceed has been issued by the college to the contractor then the construction schedule will follow soon after and timelines will be updated.

Commons Renovation bid will be sent for approval on April 30th to the State Board of Public Works. Upon approval by the board the Notice to Proceed will be issued around the 1st of May. The pre-construction meeting will take place soon after that.

Facilities Systems, consisting of the Building Automation Systems/CCTV/Door Access, have been identified and I have met with Chris Jones and reviewed them. Also I am still awaiting the quotes related to the Telephone and Network Infrastructure systems within the building.

An issue has arisen regarding the "Bliss Lecture Room" (Room 211) and the use of two projector's attached to one SIWS. I am working to identify with the client what their needs for the space will dictate, one or two projectors.

The project is currently out to bid in relation to the construction activities. The plans are now being distributed to groups within IT to facilitate the development of price quotes for approval by management. Also outside vendors are being contacted to begin generating quotes for approval by management.
